The Webley & Scott Mk IV .38/200 revolver was introduced in the 1930s as a scaled-down successor to Britain’s large-frame Webley service revolvers, offering a lighter and handier sidearm chambered for the British .380 Revolver / .38 S&W cartridge. Produced in both commercial and military configurations, the Mk IV is commonly encountered with wartime “War Finish” markings, while earlier and scarcer examples may show desirable markings such as “MK IV .38 145/200,” “Made in England,” and the Webley winged bullet trademark. Although the British government ultimately adopted the Enfield No. 2 as its official standard revolver, Webley & Scott continued producing Mk IV revolvers for wartime military, police, and commercial use. Collectors prize the Webley Mk IV for its classic top-break action, automatic ejector system, WWII service history, and connection to the larger Webley Mk VI design lineage. Original examples with matching numbers, strong bores, British proof marks, broad-arrow markings, and no import mark are especially desirable among collectors of WWII British revolvers, Webley service pistols, and .38/200 military handguns.
Chambered .38 S&W, unusual two-groove bore. All are marked "WAR FINISH" but still retain some of the earlier markings found on commercial examples including the full rollmark on top strap and Webley & Scott winged bullet logo. Bores are mirror. Ejectors move and snap shut, timing and lockup is good. Matched numbers (frame, barrel, cylinder). Will show some form of finish wear. These have been cleaned enough to cycle a full cylinder in both single and double action but might require a deeper clean to get off all traces of grease/grime. This is the exact revolver you will receive. C&R Eligible!
Not import marked.
