The SIG Stgw 57 (Sturmgewehr 57)—also known as the SIG 510—was adopted by Switzerland in 1957 and served as the nation’s standard Swiss battle rifle until the SIG 550 series replaced it in the late Cold War. Powered by the 7.5×55 GP11 cartridge, it uses a roller-delayed blowback system with a fluted chamber, precision diopter sights, and practical features like an integral bipod, winter trigger, and 24-round steel magazine—tailored for Alpine service. The design spawned export models (notably the SIG 510-4 in 7.62 NATO) and the semi-automatic PE57 for civilian shooters. On the U.S. collector market, true select-fire Stgw 57s are virtually unobtainable, while pre-ban PE57 rifles are scarce and command premium prices—making the Swiss Stgw 57 a high-value prize for enthusiasts.

Original surplus take off barrels for the STGW 57 manufactured by SIG of Switzerland. Length of 24", double stepped fluted chamber with integral muzzle brake. Chambered 7.5x55. Mix of manufacturers including W+F Bern, Hammerli, and SIG.

X Grade barrels meet VG+ bore ME measurements, but will have little to no finish left on exposed surfaces. Some corrosion spots possible on exposed surfaces. Good choice for those looking to hot blue their entire build to finish match.

GRADING SCHEDULE :

X GRADE : ME of +0.0005 to +0.001" on tolerance, finish will be worn white at grenade ring forward or have spots of corrosion
